I did the same thing. Went to local Autozone, found a hose that fit, cut out what I needed. It has been over 10,000 miles on the fix. I had it off a few weeks ago and it was fine with no swelling. For @the first 16,000 miles of my new engine I used the hose that goes to the first overflow tank to the pipe going into the water pump because the orginal hose blew out after 1000 miles on the new engine. The orginal hose was soft and spongey and blew out.
Cost Around $3 or $4. ***WARNING**** If the hose is collapsing the tower might be clogged and it is collapsing due to the intake vacuum. This could blow out a main seal. Take the tower off and clean it out or hook a pipe up to the out let and blow into it to verify that it is not clogged. Robert |
