Hi Tom, I saw your post while working in the Bentley on another matter. The clock, radio & interior lights(and lighter, map & make-up lights) are powered from fuse #3 (15A). If the fuse is OK then there is connector #T2c somewhere of the left side of the instrument panel. The Red wire (pin 1) in plug T2c is common to the above equipment. Pull the instrument cluster and you should be able to see plug T2c and refer to Bentley page 97.210. Unless you really know your VW dealer I would avoid the dealer for a concern like this. This is basic electrical troubleshooting and the VW dealer offers no special advantage in this area. This kind of concern only needs a couple of hours, a fluke meter, a schematic and a six-pack.
