Well, I was talking about a air cooled Vanagon Westy with a wopping 67Hp- while there are ways too get more power all the info on the type 2 list (air cooled only) points to poor reliability and dropping valve seats. VW found it necessary to water cool the heads in order to get more power, so I believe that I can't get more power without paying some price. Hell, I'd be happy with the 90 to 115 from the water boxer, but note that a new Honda van has 240hp and no one considers it a speed monster. For towing boats, and even carring kayaks and bikes on the roof, you need more HP & Torque If there really is a TRUE way to get a high hp (torque actually) type 4 motor and have reliablilty, please post it to me and the type 2 list. There are literally 100's of people that would like to know. I have never heard of all the performance items for water pumper - any websites that list this stuff? Peace - John 81 Air Cooled Westy |
