Yah, you are exactly right. But I never really addressed that problem. The original poster specifically stated that his stereo was rated at 40wX4 Peak. This is the exact opposite of what you did. I totally agree that more power is better (to a point). but if you are trying to get low sounds out of a tiny speaker, you will be disappointed no matter how big of an amp you have. Speakers will only put out the sounds they are supposed to. Also, he has a Westy, and there is no way to fit 6x9's into that overhead A/C compartment.

By no way is crutchfield the best source for audio. But they have always been cheaper than BestBuy/circuit city, and if you tell them otherwise they will drop their price. You can find all kinds of audio all over the net for lots less, but at least with Crutchfield you have consistency. If you want to call and get a hold of someone who knows what they are talking about, they are the ones. At circuit city you usually get the kid that was promoted out of toasters & microwaves last week, and thinks all cars should have 20 subs with 100000 wats of amps ;)
