Be sure the pump is not just stuck first. I find that my pump gets stuck occasionally and you may be able to free it by just turning the impeller. The impeller is the little tab that sticks out of the intake hole on the bottom. It should turn freely. Give it a good twist to break it loose if it is stuck.
