Sounds good to me. I thinks you mean winter commences. You don't want to know what the bay weather has been like the last three weeks. Absolutely perfect. Remember, sometimes the most horrible problems are easily solved. I replaced the engine in my 84 with a used one and had the same symptoms of the dreaded compression in coolant system with the new one. Eventually I broke the bleed valve in the engine compartment (don't ask)... in the process of fixing that issue, I fixed my coolant problems... three months and three thousand miles with no problems with the cooling system whatsoever. So.. Be happy. I can't wait to meet you in one of our frequent Bay area Vanagon get togethers... *L* Oh yeah, I am waiting for the first one.
