Mark, The fuse block is not very difficult to pull out but, tred carefully. Of course, DISCONNECT the battery first. If I remember correctly, there is only 1 screw to remove. With the mass of connections on its backside, do not expect to pull the fuseholder very far from the dash; you will have enough room to work. You do not have to snip any wires as they all use spade terminals. You seem to have the best solution to your problem but, if I may, I suggest that you mount a single pole fuseholder for the breaker.
