got a no-name NAPA 50 month battery. > I wanted a non-sealed battery but this one is sealed.

"Sealed".... the word can be deceptive....

Last time I went to buy a Group 41 battery for my 90 Westy the sales man called it 'sealed'.... But it was not what I would define as 'sealed'....

Sealed to me means there is no way to open the battery to put in water.... and no way for fumes to get out of the battery...

But the battery that was being sold as 'sealed' could easily be opened to install water.... and fumes could escape... it turns out that by 'sealed' they meant 'maintenace free'.... But it was definately NOT a sealed battery.

If a battery can be opened it is NOT a sealed battery.

Bill
