Thanks for the suggestions that I look at my regulator for the solution. It
reminded me that when the original had failed 2 years ago I replaced it with
one I bought at a swap meet. (duh). Since I couldn't find evidence of a sooty
rich condition and the fridge didn't seem to cool very well I twisted the
pressure up a couple turns and it seems to make a difference. I'm going to
get the tubing and make that manometer that Bill, Stuart, and David suggested
so I will know what the regulator is set at but right now I'm hopeful that
that was the problem.
