Hi, I've been looking for a Vanagon for awhile now and have been reading the list to get up to speed on what to look for. I still haven't found the one, especially since there just aren't that many here in the deep south. While faithfully checking the local want ads, I came across an ad for a 93 Eurovan, automatic, one owner for $2,000. I called and I'm going to take a look at it tonight. All I found out was that it has 195,000 miles (yea, I know that's a lot) and the AC "needs to be fixed". I'm assuming it's way more than a recharge if they are trying to sell a van in this area during a heat wave. Ok, VW experts. Two questions. 1. Are there any quick and easy lists of things to watch out for on the Eurovan similar to the head problem on the later Vanagons (i'm already aware of the fuel line recall and plan to ask) and 2. Am I nuts for looking at a Van with that many miles, keeping in mind this van WOULDN"T be a daily driver for me.

I appreciate any advice. Oh, I do know about the Eurovan list over on egroups, but I haven't had the time to get over there and dig around since this just came up.

thanks Brian
