I've had my 84 westy for 2 years, and it has always run a bit hot in traffic jams. I also generally avoid idling for more than a couple of minutes. The temperature gauge doesn't jump into the red, and the fan doesn't run constantly, so I don't view it as a problem, but I baby my van. It is 21, after all. Watch the temp when you test drive it. How many miles does this rig have? The price sounds pretty good to me, but I paid about twice that from a guy who bought it new, took great care of it, kept all his records, and whose family lined up to say goodbye to their beloved camper. I feel lucky. Good luck to you too.
