Subject: 88 Westy parked 4 summer
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Dear list-

Having this list as a resource has actually made owning my dream bus a reality. There is so much info I've gotten from reading the postings and I even feel like I'm starting to know/recognize some of the list members without ever having met anyone...strange, but true. Anyway...

My '88 Westy has been parked in the garage most of the summer primarily due to the intense heat. Aside from the occasional morning gallop around the coral, she has been on sabatical. Whenever I start it up the lifters start making alot of clattery racket, and there's a cloud of blue smoke coming from the exhaust. Should I be worried here? I have used Marvel Mystery oil with great sucess but I'm still wondering what kind of damage/stress I'm doing to the (sort of weak already, original 120K mi.) engine when i start it up at such seldom intervals in the summertime. Any thoughts?

Thanks VOLKS...Happy Friday! 8)
