The K-Jetronic is a Continuous Injection System, but the Digijet is a pulsed system. Digijet is the VW version of L-Jetronic with lambda.

I would recommend the Bentley book (Bosch Fuel Injection & Engine Management) as it helped me understand the FI system much better.
