Hi Stuart,

The Digifant & Digijet systems are actually based on the Bosch L-Jetronic design with "L" meaning Luft or air measurement via the AFM. The L-Jet systems always control fuel volume by changing the ms injector on-off opening time.

K-Jetronic is largely a mechanical system with "K" meaning Kontinuous. That is to say that the injectors are forced open on startup by fuel pressure and remain open continuously until shut down. Only the volume is varied by the fuel distributor. K-Jet injectors are not electrical and early K-jet systems didn't even have a control module.

To my knowledge all VW type 2 fuel injection has always been based on the Bosch L-Jetronic system using an air flow meter to measure "Luft".

Regards, John
