I CANNOT agree. My 84 Caravelle had a good GM V6 conversion. No problems at all with the conversion. It was even quiet, though the engine was too heavy, causing understeer. Shame the trans couldn't handle it.

Sure, you may be able to expect a few teething problems, but these will be curable (don't go for a drive far out-of-town until it's proven!).

The lists are ideal places to find out about others' experiences, and to find fixes.

Face it, the VW wasserboxer is a dog (and I guess the Oettinger six version is also). Best thing is to have the best van and fit the best engine (and trans ie Porsche).
