Subject: Re: Performance Wasserboxer: Fact or Fiction

Enjoy reading about your enhancement regime to achieve a higher performance "Wasserboxer". Sounds great to me and makes sense. Thanks for your advise concerning the gunk that can build-up in the breather tower, too. Incidentally, it seems to me that you are right on the money regarding the notion that one of the big problems with engine rebuilds is that some folks may devote less time to cleaning the old stuff than they might benefit from doing. Small story may interest you: after tearing down my waterboxer for a recent rebuild I had some extra time available. Cleaned the external surface of my case with a diamond, scrapping off all the "snots and snagglepusses" (original casting imperfections) so that air flow might be enhanced. Fewer bubbles and fins to snag external debris. Seems to have helped as my new rebuild has never run cooler. Regards, Diamond Dave Gunning, G.G., Lovell, ME 04051
