Tom,

I was in contact with Mike at Seattle Sports last Spring regarding the Sherpak 7 (It was called a 7 when I saw it). After several correspondences I finally gave it up because as much as I tried to convince him that VW owner would buy the product if he again produced it, I didn't seem to be able to convince him. I even offered to do an informal poll on the Vanagon Mailing List and to contact several distributors of custom VW aftermarket products. All to no avail.

Apparently you have done exactly as I did and maybe NOW he is convinced there IS a market. As far as marketing them, I personally feel that custom colors are nice but they will really add to the inventory costs of the distributor. Why can't we settle for their stock sort of silvery-gray color which I think was probably chosen to begin with because of it's ability to stand up to UV exposure. Maybe this would help hold down the cost to manufacture also.

At any rate, count me in for one and I'll pass it on to everyone I know that might be interested. Keep pushing for it, I think it will happen this time.
