Subject: Quantum Turbo Diesel FS. Drive it or convert your Vanagon.

Hi,

I'm switching to biking for commuting (moved to within a few miles of work) and I'm selling my Quantum Turbo Diesel. Could be a comfortable and inexpensive (40MPG!) commuter for someone who doesn't need to drive the latest and hottest, or the engine and lots of the extras (Quantum GL was the top model in the VW lineup) can be transferred to your Vanagon or Westy:

These would go easily into the Vanagon:

* Turbo Diesel engine with the longitudinal style manifolds. Fits with VW stock Vanagon D motor mounts (unlike Jetta/Golf and later B3 Passats)

* 4x Power window motors, mechanisms and 6x switches * Cruise * 5x power locks * Tachometer * Premium VW/Blaupunkt Heidelberg sound system.

Someone handy could also try to plumb in the Quantum AC. (Looks like the compressor would fit with the Quantum mounts, but need figuring out condensor and evaporator plumbing)

Many other accessories and parts also work in the Vanagon D (Alternator, vaccum pump, blower ... etc, etc...

For pictures and more details check:

http://www.cs.jhu.edu/~jager/vw/Quantum/QuantumTD85.html

Asking $850

Note: I don't have time to part it myself so don't ask for individual parts.

I'm in town (for a change) this weekend and the beginning of next week. I'm located in Baltimore, MD near Johns Hopkins University. (By car: just off I83 or Balt/Wash DC commuter train: Near Woodberry light rail station (we live in the Woodberry forest area))

Interested? You have to reply by email to:

Cheers, Martin -- Westy 1.9l Turbo Diesel Quantum 1.6l Turbo Diesel (FS)
