Subject:      84 vanagon- brake lines leaking

I hit the brakes and the pedal loses firmness about mid-push.  I get out and
check the brake fluid.  Empty.  (I've had a slight leak of the clutch slave
cylinder I've been meaning to fix.  Part is under the bench/bed.)  Fill-er-up
with brake fluid and pump the brake pedal a few times.  Strange sound.  Brake
fluid being squirted and leaking onto the ground.  It's coming out of the

spare tire area.  


Panic.  Breathe slowly.  Curse the Germans.  Pray for forgiveness.  Back to
the bus.

I drop the spare and it looks to be the one of the pair of metal brake lines
going from front to rear.  


What do I do?  No part on bus depot.  Is this something that could and should
be fabricated locally?  Should the whole part (front to rear) be replaced or
do you weld in just the rusty section (about 6 inches). 


Help!!!!
