hi, After several months of checking the ads and lurking on the list I have finally bought my very own watercooled westy! yeah!!!!! I checked out the '84 and what he said was hot was a notch above what it runs on the freeway. I drove it around the streets of Berkeley for a while and it never went anywhere near overheating. Infact I didn't even notice much difference at all. There's about 50,000 miles on a factory rebuild and brand new bridgestone light truck tires all around with new brakes and shocks to go with. The transmission shifts smoothly and compared to my past vw busses, it's zippy. Body wise, no rust but in desperate need of a paint job. I'll be breaking it in this weekend with a trip to Monterey. Thanks again for all the help, Juli '84 Westy "Horace"
