Jeeze!!! I hadn't given this much thought. Anybody ever have any "experiences" with bears and their Vanagons? I've done a lot of camping in the last 10 years or so, but last week was my first hungry wildlife altercation. Seems a hungry raccoon in the Allegheny National Forest wanted to clean my mountain pie maker for me. I had carelessly left it outside, propped against the front wheel. I woke up with a start to a loud strange noise outside. At first I thought that someone was messing with the mountain bikes. But then I realized that it was something wild by the look on my cats face - yes I travel and camp with my cat. Little bugger had drug the pie maker about 15 feet from the van before I could grab the flashlight and jump out (cautiously). He ran up the closest tree and pathetically looked down at me. After looking at it for a few moments, I retired to the van with pie maker AND veggie cooler. Scary to think if it would have been a bear instead!
