Seats are fine, even aromatically pristine, if one might use that term when describing the Vanagon's seats. The smell is definitely coming from the carpet, which made me suspect an animal origin. And it's definitely urine by the smell. Other posters have suggested trying deodorizers available at the pet store, which sounds promising.
