Good morning! Thanks for all the feedback on ShadyBoy awnings. Everyone agrees they look great, but I still haven't heard from anyone who has used theirs "hard" & can say whether they really perform. I am obviously not alone in dealing with the "dreaded" Intermittent Power Loss Syndrome. David Gunning wisely pointed out the folly of tossing large sums of money at the problem. I intend to continue with what will be an annual comprehensive cleaning & preventative maintenance, which may turn up any number of "loose cannons." This problem, however, is not inconsequential: my Westy loses power & stalls out, forcing me to drift to the shoulder. And there is nothing predictable about it! On a 4 lane highway, I might lack enough momentum to change lanes & get to the side of the road. In heavy traffic, this could be lethal. And in Mexico, as I have explained, many two-lane highways have no shoulder whatsoever, and are swarming with Big Rigs. I used to shudder to think of losing all power passing one of those rigs! I hope all of you had a good weekend. I managed to keep one eye on my laptop screen while waxing my poptop & picking ripe plums. Ciao, Phaedra '85 Westy-Wolf "Hester" |
