I have obtained more of those heavy duty "Syncro" air filters that made such
a splash on the list last year.  These fit all 2.1 liter ('86-91) Vanagons
(Syncro or not), in place of the stock filter.  They are genuine German
Volkswagen brand, and were sold by the factory as an optional "heavy duty"
air filter for off-road use, etc. on Syncros.  They have a metal housing
around them and are incredibly heavy duty.  Original price is about $65.00,
which is why not many people buy them.  If you'd like to learn more about
them, there's plenty in the archives; all of it praise from people who
bought them when I had them last year.

The price is $18.95 and they'll be here the middle of next week.  Anyone
with an '86-91 van should snatch up a couple because these are just
incredible pieces of work for this price (which is not much more than the
cost of the stock "light duty" filter). The website price will be higher,
