Several people have mentioned what to do with the discolored trim pieces in the windows. My mechanic also suggested pulling it out, but I was afraid the front one would leak more than it does now. Painting worked very nicely on my 87 Syncro GL. I used a semi-gloss black, that was sold by AutoZone as an automotive "trim paint". Masking is a bit tedious, you sort of have to mask off the world. I would not recommend using a flat paint, as it can turn white if it comes in contact with wax, and it is difficult to get the wax off.
