Scott,

Replacing the hoses and leaving out the tees to the rear heater is the best way to do this. However, also being in Seattle, I use the rear heater all the time in the winter when our average temps are 45 degrees! I'm surprised you never use it, I get cold drafts from the back circling up front if I don't have heat back there, and the rear heater also has the hottest water going through it and puts out the most heat. You can really heat the van up using both.

If you do go ahead, you can get the hoses from your FIPS (Favorite Internet Parts Supplier). I got mine from Ken Wilford, and the hose that goes from the right head does have a larger molded end for connecting to the port on the head. If you use regular heater hose you will have to come up with a 3/4" to 1/2" reducer. Be sure to save all the parts in case you change your mind or sell the van!
