Hi West Coast Vanagon drivers,

I hesitate to recommend this campground as it seems to be not well known.

As an alternative to Yosemite, how about Cedar Grove in Kings Canyon. I first went there in 1953 and was there last year, not much has changed. I

believe that John Muir said that Cedar Grove was Yosemite without all the

people. They do have a bear problem but I don't think it is as bad as Yosemite. Please don't get me wrong, as I really like Yosemite, just putting out another location. Cedar Grove has showers and a small restaurant/store. For a day trip from Ceader Grove there is always the Gaint Sequoia's, 30 miles back to General Grant Grove and another 30 to General Sherman Tree area. They have a website at <http://www.nps.gov/seki> and close in the winter about the middle of November.
