Subject: front mudflap installation tip
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Recently someone asked about how the front left side mudflap attaches to the body, specifically the inserts that go into the body holes.

Had a look around town yesterday to find replacements for the stock plastic inserts and found what I thought were good matches. But when I got them to the van I found that they were too big for the hole.

In frustration I tried what was suggested earlier, rubber grommets.

Size: 1/8" wire, 1/4 chassis

(ie the hole in the grommet is 1/8", the hole that it fits into is 1/4")

This size fits tightly into the van and the threaded stud thingy in the mudflap will slip in with a little bit of lube.

Alistair
