I live in Phoenix and it gets hot here. Area b/t windshield and reflective shade screen create a magnificent solar oven. I once took my BMW to the shop and when they were done they parked it out front facing the setting sun and put up my shade screen. This turned a small chip into a crack that ran all away across the windshield. I never heard of a fire, take pictures if you actually get flames.
