In the spring I hope to have a economical (not read pricey$$) front and rear bumbers available. there will be a couple versions, but I am going to focus on a set similar to mike sullivan's style. double tube with a few options available. I am definately going to work out the gerry can and spare tire thing too, also a REAL hitch assembly. I do need feedback about the need for these bumbers to justify production. but all will be made by me in my NY shop. If all goes well I will plan on taking them to east coast shows. without actually having a materials cost list and welder time analysis I am ball parking for a set of double tube bumbers to cost in the 400-500 range. then have a few optional accessories. (gerry can holder/spare carrier/bike rack front or rear/and a rear hitchmount cargo carrier/bull bar/brush guard) I won't even offer to be held accountable (read responsible) for damage done to other vehicles from the extra steel on the van, or loss of gas milage, and I highly do NOT recommend using the gerry can for gasoline. I carry mine full of water with a bottle of dry gas stuffed in there (the whole actual bottle, 12 ozs of dry gas won't make water burn:) as I usually need water (big sin but I drive deisel not leaky heads) more often than fuel. if I am truely going off the beaten path the dump water add dry gas and fuel it up. the risks of a rear ender are less in the middle of the woods and if a drunk logging truck rearends you well he'll probably hide the body anyway.
