Subject: AFM cleaning - SHOT?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Upon the advise of a few of you folks, Ref. my recent idle problems and power loss, I tore the cover off the AFM, and with a can of Radio Shack electronic cleaner in hand went about cleaning. I noticed that the black carbon "rainbow" not only had two tracks worn in it, but there was one spot where the carbon is worn away enough you can see the white substrate below. I'm writing before reassembly and try-out, but I'm not very optimistic... any feedback? If you vendors are reading... how much for a replacement AFM?

PS, the Radio Shack brand of electronic cleaner doesn't come out of the can with much oomph. And at $11.00, I thought it should.
