To quote good old Bill D: >The shariff can just show up at the place of >business and take the money out of the cash register..

Now Bill, this is not quite the case. A sheriff can levy on property after the party receives a judgment entered by the court, and with a writ of fieri facias. But he (the sheriff or his/her lawful deputy) can't just seize an indeterminate amount of money generally from a person or a business, or residence. Greenbacks have a way of getting misplaced, er, if you know what I mean. Funny how many times counting differences and shortages arise. Normally, if they seize anything, it is some personal (movable) property. But believe it or not it is hard to get them to execute the levy (go get the stuff). Then they subtract all their costs and fees just for fooling with it. It ain't that easy my man. Now if you're going to dispense legal advice, for goodness sake do it right. You don't want me to get my hackles up on the subject of levy and seizure. I've been known to drone on for hours and hours . . . . : ) HK
