Just a thought. I know that in some states it is illegal for a business to purchase a car for parts and then resell it as a complete vehicle. They can chop it up, but they can't resell it as a used car. Maybe someone knows more or can look into it.

Also, just to continue comments about Parts Place. I purchased two complete strut assemblies for my Jetta thinking, only three bolts to remove - it will save alot of time. Not un- expectedly, the struts did not fit well (the flange that bolts to the hub) but it worked. Here I am now with two struts whose inserts are still good, but everything else about them is falling a part - strut bearings, mounts, etc. I have had to have both removed, disassembled, and the non wear parts replaced. I had expected the inserts to at least wear out first.

P.S. To be fair, thought I would throw in a good thing about parts place. Bought a new axle, two weeks later boot was ripped, called and complained (at the suggestion of my local mechanic) they said it wasn't their fault but they would send out a new boot. In retrospect they were not at fault at all but were nice and sent me a new boot.

P.S.S This still doesn't make up for not having integrity. BTW, it is true legally no one has to have integrity, but they do if they want the list members to buy from them.
