Ken,

I had to think about your post for a bit to avoid a knee-jerk reaction.

This is a male-dominated list, and probably a pretty good number of us are middle-aged or so. We probably are reacting more strongly because the folks at Parts Place are taking advantage of our (projected) wives and daughters.

First - I don't think that is a bad thing. We are prewired to react that way. It's part of us. At least in our little corner of the world, chivalry is not quite dead.

Second - If it were a Mike instead of a Melissa, the actions of Parts Place would be just as wrong. Perhaps we would not be quite as vociferous on the issue, but maybe we would. Dunno. Do you want to volunteer as a guinea pig?
