There is no doubt that this situation is a case of "inserting foot into mouth" for the parts place. The mistake was that the parts place called her to buy the van back for fair market value. Come on, tell me the person who made that call did not think for awhile of what her reaction, regardless of education would be. Did the parts place actually think they were being righteous to her? To buy back the van for $3300.00 ? I don't think so. It is clear that this call should never been made, but because it was, the parts place should not drag there feet on this and get the van back to Melissa for a fair market on the repairs and parts used. My warning to the Parts place would be to give Bruce a call over at MOFOCO. Ask Bruce what happens to business when word gets out when members of the Volkswagen family get hurt. How your business comes out of this will hit you in the pocket book. It may take a while to see but it will.

Until then there is plenty of Places for Parts other than the parts place for me to deal with.
