We call that a close call. And it took me a while to get to replacing it. Take off the front grill (yes, the one with the headlights in it)> Up behind the driver's side (USA) headlight is the antenna. It comes down and out from that spot after you remove the nut that is at the base of the antenna on the cowl of the bus. I had to remove the drver's side headlight bucket--but that is an easy three ot four phillips screws. With the headlight and bucket out of the way I had better access. Bentley says to remove the instrument cluster to re-route the antenna wire. But at the suggesstion of a listee I just pulled out the ashtray in the dash , unplugged the wire from the radio, tied a string to it and pulled out the wire from under the grill. You can then use the string to pull the new antenna wire to the radio. You will have to take off the instrument cluster cover, the part that just pops off, to help route the wire, But again, I had no need to remove the entire cluster. The antenna gets fed in to the cowl from underneath where you took the old one out. And then the wire just follows the previous route to the radio. If I can be any help lemme know.
