Phaedra, Not sure who is convincing whom of what, exactly, but, according to Hoyle (Bentley, too) your engine is suppose to kick itself up to a higher rpm level, as I grasp these things, when you activate the AC. Little switch provides extra air to the intake manifold. If this switch (idle stabilizer valve) is not activating something may be electronically kaput. Or, like me, merely mechanically inept.
