AFAIK, this only applies to non-Westies that have a ceiling-mounted tunnel
that carries cold air to the front vents. Evidently, the mounts tend to
pull free (I guess VW engineers don't get things right *every* time); enough
so that VWOA issued a recall notice, since it involved a potential safety
hazard.
No free fix for the Westy, though...
