Thanks for the tips, but the ecu was bad. I assume from perhaps being hooked up incorrectly, at least at first, when the previous shop worked on the thing. Ecu looked good, smelled ok, but would not ground the injectors. A used one did the trick. Dr. Dave.

van towed to me as no start. ran when at other shop, they installed clutch and had no start. let me clarify this, it will start and run for 2 seconds on the fuel from the cold start injector, but there is no injector pulse. it has fuel pump and pressure, spark, will run on propane but has no injector pulse. The other shop said they marked the wiring that they had to remove from the coil and such in order to remove engine. it does look like everything is in the proper place, but no run. I need to ask the VW techs out there for the efi schematics or wiring for the injection system so I can unravel the mystery for this shop. Fax # is 1-937-778-1213. Please try to help if you have something or if you know something to try. You can also call 1-888-872-1221 or 1-937-778-1221 and get me direct. Thanx a lot people. Dr. Dave.
