Subject: Alloy wheels fit in spare tire carrier?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Hi,

Trying to put spare alloy tire (87 Weekender) back into spare tire carrier after taking it all apart during radiator work.

Now I had to let all of the air out of the tire and use a jack to get it to latch. Ran my hand over the top of the tire (in the carrier now) and noticed that the radiator hoses are kinda squoshed. Not much but enough to be called squoshed.

Is this normal? Doesnt sound right to me.

I am assuming that the regular non-alloy tires were slimmer and not a problem. Do most people have a non-alloy as the spare?

What has your mileage been on this issue?

Thanks,

Erik
