Subject: Rad. fan R & R
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Listees, In the heat of the current Arizona summer, my cooling system and A/C are getting a real workout. When the rad. fan is on low speed, it sounds more or less normal for a van with 126K miles. But with the A/C on and the rad. fan switches to high speed, it is really noisey, more so when driving at moderate speed, almost as though it is overspeeding, like it is getting extra juice from the alternator. Is this possible, or is it just worn out bearings/bushings, or something else vibrating? Is there an easy (relative to Vanagons) way to R & R the rad fan? I see nothing in the Bentley other than that dropping the radiator can be done without draining it. Any help, as usual is greatly appreciated.

Jerry
