I just went through this process with my weekender conversion.. you have to remove the lower pan from the donor vehicle, you'll need an 4 1/2 in angle grinder, safety glasses. and remove the welds from along the stock lower seat track. go carefully and the take to a welder and have him weld back into your vehicle. carefull not to catch your padding on fire. I also went through the liberty to shorten the front of the under seat storage/map tray. as I'll be adding my own false bottom and front to slide out to access my delorme atlas maps. any Q's feel free to p-mail me dan stevens feel free to ask or advise. I listen as well as learn.
From: Mack Paschall <> Hey folks, I've located a used front seat pivot/turntable on a Westphalia. How do I get the thing out? Removing the seat is easy, but after that I'm lost. Also, any specific recommendations for when I install it on my '87 Syncro Weekender? I've been told that there are pieces that must be welded, and would appreciate any info on that. Thanks, Mack |
