Forget it !! This stuff has been around a long time for use in motorcycle gas tanks, and after a period of time the substance which is suppose to be lining your tank, will start to flake, and will plug anything in it's path. It is a good idea in theory, but how does one know how clean they have gotten the tank prior to the liners installation? You don't, and that's where the flaw in the product lies. It may not happen right away, but in due time it will start messing up your fuel delivery system. I used this stuff ( Kreme ) in a 66 Triumph TR-6, which had a rusty tank. Followed all directions, put the stuff in, waited a week for it to dry, and went riding. About 1 month down the road, it started to turn the exhaust pipes out of the head purple, from running lean. Took the float end caps off the carbs and found this stuff, plugging the main jets. Phooey !! Gas tank replacement , or a welded repair is the only way to go. Later, Terry 85 GL |
