Hi Gang I need some of your collective wisdom: just returned from a fabulous weekend of camping with the girls and 86 Westy, at the Sandbanks camping ground off Lake Ontario. Highly recommended. It became clear however that I need to install a bike rack if only to avoid having to pack everything up, turn the seats back around, bring in the roof, every time we discover we've forgotten to bring such and such, only to drive a few miles, where a bike would be perfect. Plus it would be good to ride with the family at these places, there's so much to see. So, what's the best thing? I saw an newer model westy at the campsite with one of those hitches that sticks straight up from the rear and dangles the bikes from there, but I'm also familiar with the kind that strap onto the back of the van with a fold down rack. I know these get a bit expensive but I need to do something. I think there may even be a canadian distributor/manufacturer for these? It would be for two adult and one child's bike. I could probably put the small bike on the luggage carrier above the front seats, but the two others need a real carrier. Are there any front carriers? Are they worth it? Thanks in advance.
