Karl,
Just a note to express my dismay over the number of assholes on this list.
Seems worse than it has ever been.
I sincerely appreciate all the hard work you and the other volunteers have
put into the sticker effort. When I received mine I was genuinely surprised
at the professional quality of the stickers from the design to the
reproduction to the materials used. I can further assure you as a long time
volunteer contributor (American Vacuum Society, Red Cross, various Scout
organizations and inner-city science teaching efforts) that I quite
understand the hours involved and the draining personal commitment it
entails. I also deeply understand the sense of outrage one feels when such
service is taken for granted or demanded as an obligation from another. I am
certain that many others on this list have a similar sense of outrage over
such comments. I feel that myself as well as so many others on this list have
been surprisingly well served by your efforts and those of the other members
of the sticker task force. Finally, I have not begrudged a single kB of the
sticker discussion on the list. These negative responses help keep the
oxidation of the contact surfaces of my delete key at a minimal thickness.
