I have a Vanagon GL and a loaf camper. The Vanagon is about useless in slippery stuff. The loaf is almost as good as a split. It ain't the tyres that make the difference, it's the suspension. The loaf will go places with bald street tyres @ 50psi that the Vanagon won't go with aggressive off-road tyres at 15psi.
