Just got to chime in here. At present I own two wasserboxer Vanagon Westies, and one ' 78 Loaf Westy. When it comes to traction in the slippery stuff or off road, the Loaf wins hands down. Can't tell you how many times the wife and I have had folks in serious 4wd vehicles come upon us at the crest of a challenging climb only to say, "...How the hell did you get that thing up here?!!!..." With the exception of a wee bit too much overhang on the front wheels, the Loaf is quite the off-roader.
