Subject: is return to tank high pressure line?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hello all--

Is the return line to the gas tank on an 83.5 Westy a high pressure line? I concerned particularly with the 6 or 12 inches of rubber hose that connects directly to the fitting on the driver's side of the fuel tank.

I see there is regular fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump then it becomes high pressure line. The line back to the tank seems to be the same "plastic?" high pressure line until it reaches the tank at which point it connects to the tank with a rubber hose. Is this rubber hose area still high pressure? or is regular fuel line called for? TIA Jeff 83.5 Westy NYC (well not anymore really-currently homeless and heading for LA Look for my Ivory Westy with Vanagon.com sticker and SA mudflaps and NY plates heading west)

(Incidentally I'm in the midst of replacing the vent lines on top of the tank with the kit from Ken at VanAgain. It's a dirty job, but beside the fact that you have to lift the bus up over your head to get the tank straps unhooked, pretty straitforward :)
