Sounds possibly like worn bearings or oilpump, producing low oilpressure. Giving it a rev increases the pressure sufficiently to stop the buzzer. The oil light in my 69 Kombi comes on at idle when hot, indicating a similar condition in the van's LETHARGIC Corvair engine.
