Thanks for the reply, Peter.

So I called the dealership back and gave him the part # from the BusDepot web site. They don't stock that one either, but at least it is cheaper....only $12! :o

The down side is that they won't include a free washer for that price. Looks like time for a BusDepot order!

Take care, TomC

Your parts guy must be a complete moron. According to ETKA 068 103 193 A is a plug in the diesel oil pan (M16). Bus Depot has the right part (M14x1.5). Fits all Vanagon years. The matching washer is N 013 814 9.

Good luck, Peter

Howdy all,

After 18 months and and a good 10k miles or so, I finally felt ashamed enough to change my Crew Cab's oil. I went out to do it last weekend, but it

looks like the PO buggered up the drain plug pretty well. I want to have a replacement plug on hand before trying to remove the old one.

I called the local dealer, and he told me I needed part # 068 103 193A as the replacement drain plug. His price is about $22.00! But at least he will include the washer for that price. ;)

When I look on the busdepot.com site, I see part # N 029 7012 for $3.95

Does anyone know if the Busdepot $4 plug will work?
